In this training you will learn how to sequence a yoga class using anatomy, the rotations of the limbs and body in space, and by moving energy through the body. You will learn how to take advantage of the different rotations in the body to not only move around the mat, but also start to create energetic effects in the body of your students and create a well rounded, fun, and holistic yoga class.
There are a few hard and fast rules about how the body works and how to get the most strength and stretch with certain poses and where to place them in your sequence. You will learn about these rules and how to sequence safely and progressively. You'll learn how to move students into and a peak pose, and what needs to be strengthened and stretched so students can be the most prepared in their bodies for certain poses.
This training will span over 2 Saturdays. We will start with a 90 minute yoga practice 8:15-9:45am. Then there will be a break to shower, change, eat and think about the practice and how it felt in your body. We will then meet back up at 1pm for the rest of training until 6pm. You will be expected to create sequences during the week before our final Saturday meetup on 5/12.
Collaborative learning will be a big part of this training. We will all work together to go over the different sequences you have created. You'll be able to give constructive feedback about poses and how the sequence felt to you.
Because, nothing is created in a tunnel... Especially yoga.
Pre-Requisites - Must have 200hr yoga alliance or equivalent (ace certification or working experience, etc.)
