Swedish/Deep Tissue Massage: Swedish/Relaxation massage is the most common and best-known type of massage. Swedish/Relaxation massage is the combination of many different  techniques rolled into one session. During this therapy session the therapist will work with the soft tissues and muscles in the body to help restore balance and health. Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used in classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and  fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).

Myofascial Release Massage: Myofascial release is a manipulative treatment that attempts to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. Connective tissues called fascia surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. This type of massage is done very slowly, in order to sink into the fascia and muscles with little pain for the client and effort for the therapist. There is also little to no lubricant used for this type of massage so the therapist can grip on to the muscles and fascia. We’ll start with a quick postural assessment before the session so you can see the physical changes after each treatment.

CranioSacral Massage: CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. It can be especially effective for headaches, migraines, concussions, and many other issues. You are fully clothed for this type of massage and will be face up the entire time. Many people describe this type of massage as a meditative massage experience.

Prenatal Massage: Massage during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension, which can aid in better sleep and less anxiety.

MVA Massage: MVA is for Motor Vehicle Accidents. If you were in a recent car or bike accident, you may need treatment from not just a doctor, but a Chiropractor, Acupuncturist, and Massage Therapist to help get your body back in alignment.
